About Sara
I am an environmental portrait photographer with over 15 years of experience.
Get to know me
Hello and welcome! I’m Sara, lover of snow angels, laughing fits, and fantasy novels. I live in Seattle, Washington, with my husband, Alex. As a native east-coaster who moved to the PNW several years ago, I feel lucky every day to have access to jaw-dropping mountain scenery just a few hours away.
I took my first self portrait in 2009. In the years since, I have played around in front of and behind the camera, eventually arriving at my preferred style of nature-forward self portraits.
My goal with every image is to express my emotions, especially those that accompany my time in nature: awe and wonder at the beauty around me, peacefulness to be away from a densely populated city, gratitude towards my body for bringing me to magical places, and pure, childlike, unbridled joy.

My Why
Creating to express and inspire
My hope is that my photos will speak to you. That in seeing them, you will feel. Perhaps it will be a feeling of awe, or peace, or a desire to spend time in nature. Or maybe it will be a curiosity, driving you to explore the interaction between your body and nature, your body and your mind.
